Welcome to my homepage!
I am a Professor of Finance at Alliance Manchester Business School, where I have been a faculty member since 2005, initially joining as an Assistant Professor. I hold a PhD in Economics and an MSc from the University of York, where I also served as a Teaching Fellow, and a BA in Economics from the University of Cagliari, Italy.
Currently, I coordinate the Accounting and Finance Postgraduate Taught (PGT) Programmes at Alliance Manchester Business School, following my tenure as Director of the MSc Finance, MSc Finance and Economics, and MSc Finance and Business Economics programmes (watch our promo video).
My research primarily focuses on empirical corporate finance, with specific interests in ownership structures, the relationship between governance and performance, capital structure, financing constraints, and firm risk-taking. Additionally, I explore topics in banking and behavioral finance, including the impact of personal connections, gender dynamics, and the motherhood penalty.
