Teaching
Corporate FInance (MSc)
This is a core module for all our MSc programs in Accounting and Finance. The course focuses on the core issues of corporate finance: corporate financial policy, corporate governance, and corporate investment decisions. I use a broad spectrum of pedagogical tools, ranging from classic theories to advanced empirical studies, from case studies to applied practice exercises with real firm data. Students typically enjoy this module and the variety of tools employed. Even as recently as 2022 student evaluations earned me a nomination for excellence in teaching.

Advanced Corporate Finance (PhD)
This is a shared module where different members of staff bring in their own areas of expertise. I teach a section on corporate risk taking based on my recent papers.
Introduction to Stata (MSc)
I teach an introductory course for MSc students to help them prepare for their final dissertation. Students are shown how to start from a raw dataset, import it into Stata's environment, manipulate it and use it for empirical analysis. A number of real applications is presented in class using some of the most common datasets students are likely to use during their MSc Dissertations i.e. Compustat, Worldscope/Datastream, Orbis. There are numerous class exercises to allow students to familiarize and practice with the software and the various commands during the class. Students typically enjoy this module and the practical approach I take for this module. Even as recently as 2023 student evaluations earned me a nomination for excellence in teaching.
Advanced Stata (PhD)
I also teach a 12 hours course for PhD students. In this more advanced class I show students how to use Macros and Programmes and Loops in Stata. The class contains several practical exercises to allow students to use and familiarize with the commands/routines that were shows in class. At the end, we also look at a few examples of integration between Stata and Python.
